Bags of Hope Ministry, a part of the Blood River Baptist Association, has released its local food pantry collection list for the month of July. Needed goods include peanut butter, ravioli, instant potatoes, chili, chicken noodle soup, and canned vegetables. Non-food items like bars of soap are of need as well. Donations can be delivered directly to the food pantry located at 3265 Mayfield Hwy Benton, KY 42025, Monday-Thursday from 1-4 pm, or the Association Office located at 47 Aurora Hwy, Hardin, KY 42048, Monday through Thursday 8 am-2 pm.
The 10th annual “Thunder in the Valley” will take place at Buddy Roger’s Park in Fredonia, KY on Friday, July 3rd beginning at 6:00 p.m., with live music starting around 6:30 p.m. There will be face painting, blow-ups, a balloon twister, and food including burgers and funnel cakes. The event will finish up with a fireworks display.
